International Students Health Insurance Policies – Global USA
Global Student USA is an international student insurance plan which is designed for those students and scholars traveling outside their home country to pursue higher studies. This international student medical insurance plan is competitively priced for the comprehensive benefits it offers for the international students.
The Global Student USA insurance policy meets the J1 visa requirements. In addition, it is suitable for F1 visa holders who are studying in the US. This is highly popular among international students as it meets the requirements specified by most of the educational institutions and programs, community colleges and universities in the US where foreign students are admitted.
The Global Student insurance policy offers coverage for various health care services like prescription drugs, doctor consultation, pregnancy related issues like complications, in-patient and out-patient hospital services, emergency medical requirements, child birth and miscarriage complications and emergency travel assistance which require evacuations and repatriations.
The Global Student USA plans are available to non US citizens between ages 14 and 64 who are engaged in full time international education outside their home country. The plans do not cover dependents. There is no optional coverage available in these plans.
The insured can renew and continue to remain in the same plan as long as the premium is paid before the lapse of the insurance policy.
In case the insured misses out on paying the premium on time, there is a 31-day grace period allotted for renewal. The insured would be eligible for full refunds if the policy certificate is submitted within 10 days of purchase after which no refunds are available.
The international student insurance plan becomes effective once the completed enrollment form is received along with the premium. In case you prefer a specific effective date, you can specify it at the time of submitting the application. When the insured is in the home country, this plan is very restrictive in the coverage benefits.
Coverage ends on the expiry date of the policy or the date mentioned in the enrollment form or if the ensured does not meet the eligibility requirements. The student medical insurance plan is also not valid if the premium is not paid before the lapse of the policy.
